Before forming Neyer Holdings, Tom spent 16 years at Al Neyer, Inc., a Cincinnati-based design, construction and commercial real estate firm.  Tom’s last five years there were as its Chairman, in which capacity he focused on the firm’s long-term direction and capital structure, as well as client, prospect and community relations.   In addition to his work at Al Neyer, Inc., Tom was active with a variety of growth companies serving as advisor, director and investor in multiple industries.

Alignment with the community’s objectives has always been a part of Tom’s work.  In February of 1997, Tom was appointed by Ohio Governor George Voinovich to fill a vacant seat on the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners. As Commissioner, Tom continued his work as a builder by emphasizing economic development, human services, transportation, cultural and infrastructure initiatives.  In November of 1998, the voters of Hamilton County elected him to a full four-year term. He was elected president of the Board three times by his peers.

Tom has been involved in a broad range of business, political, civic and cultural organizations. Current service includes: Young Presidents’ Organization, University of Cincinnati Board of Executive Advisors in Real Estate, Trustee of the May Festival, Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Finance Committee, the Advisory Board of the Junior League, The Wellness Community Board of Directors, and Trustee as well as Past President of Cincinnati’s Contemporary Arts Center.  He previously served three years on the National Board of the World Affairs Councils of America in Washington, D.C.
